ONCA - FACTUM RESOURCES

Rules 61.11 and 61.12 govern factums.

(No forms or precedents are provided by the Court.)

See section 11.7 of the Practice Directions for very general guidance on the preparation of factums.

This guide provides helpful guidance on citation, including many citation examples.  It indicates that citations should not be provided in footnotes or endnotes.

The Court has included in its archives an article written by a former Justice of the Court, John I. Laskin titled "Forget the Wind-Up and Make the Pitch: Some Suggestions for Writing More Persuasive Factums."

This remains the best article

on factum writing, in my opinion.
